Ref.: SharkWise_7B03a Entering Chapman's Peak Drive from Hout Bay a road forks off to the beach. A poster advising visitors to observe the sea and look out for possible signs indicating the presents of sharkes.

This is by far no reason to worry - sharks have not been seen in the bay at least for thirty years.

Along Chapman's Peak Drive are many, sometimes hidden places where to rest for a picnic enjoying the most beautiful scenery and ... during the Southern Right Whale breading season ... the Wales in the picturesque bay surrounded by mountains with all its hiking trails leading into various directions.

Note: If one looks at the enlarged photo (click on image), ref. "Chapmans_7B02k" then besides the Guinea Fowl a Whale enjoys its swim in the bay.

Ref.: Chapmans_7B10h Ref.: Chapmans_7B10k A hiking sign indicating "Chapman's Peak". However, it could have been very well called "Table Mountain", "Constantia Berg", "Tokai Forest", "Silver Mine", "Elefaphant's Eye", ......., or even "Cape Point" and it would still be correct.
