Tender Mercy Carers - Slide Show

Illness is a reality that most of us, will at least once become acquainted with in our walk of life. When any of your family members fall ill and need tender care at home, will you have effective care? In the community of Hout Bay we have escalating numbers of people who are HIV Positive and have related diseases e.g. TB, Cancer and various chronic diseases that would eventually lead to some sort of terminal illness. These individuals are not in a position to fend for themselves and they rely exclusively on the Government and family members for assistance. The standard of living for this impoverished community cannot be reached. This means that when they become ill, they are unable to afford the care of a professional caregiver.

This brought about the idea of a “project not for gain” and the birth of TENDER MERCY CARERS (Refer to the motto below). They have this unexplainable passion to care for those in need in the community that is Hout Bay. The circumstances are not always favorable but they do not give up so easily and because of their positive attitude they achieve those ‘minor’ successes with those limitations. The Home Based Care that these patients receive has made a tremendous difference in these people’s lives. This service is not just for the sick but it extends to the Psycho Social Support, which we render to affected family members of the Hout Bay Community.

The sustainability of this mercy project is now threatened and it is therefore that we kindly appeal to you to partner us in this humanitarian quest, to serve our fellow man. We therefore appeal to you for a seed donation in cash or in kind that would make a tremendous difference in an ill person’s life and by doing so, you’ll be a partner in sustaining a life.

I thank you and appreciate your kind consideration in respect of the above appeal and await in anticipation your favorable response.
