- Housing directorate has revisited and finalised the waiting list for Imizamo Yethu.
- The Resident Audit carried out by the Development Action Group for the City in October 2003 and verified early in 2004 was used as the basis for the waiting list.
- Records of the South Peninsula Informal Settlement Management Team were used to identify shacks and plots informally sold over the years, which therefore disqualify both the seller and buyer from the list.
- The City’s strategic numbering of informal structures was used to create priority on the waiting list.
- The List contains approximately 3000 potential beneficiaries. Some names still have to be referred to the National Data Base to ascertain whether or not they would qualify for a subsidy.
