Docked Fishing Trawler
The narrow harbour entrance with the quay wall on the left, a water breaker protected from the open sea by men size dices of concrete, leads one past the more sizable vessels on the right. Along the peer where, during the day, fishing boats are offloading their early morning catch adjacent to cruising boats and traders selling all kind of African treasure yachts are taking over a portion of the harbour. Then, right at the end like the bottom of a collection box, there it is where wooden fishing trawlers determine Hout Bay harbour’s scenery.

Along and on top of the quay wall seals are holding their siesta. Two endlessly large looking whales caught me by surprise when they elegantly left the harbour basin heading for the open sea.
